Acts 10v48

And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.




At the culmination of this passage where the Gentiles were first saved in the household of Cornelius – see also the previous two sections – Peter in this verse now commands Cornelius and his household to be baptised in the name of the Lord (Jesus, v36). What a wonderful blessing indeed God has allowed for all – being able to wash away the punishment for sin through baptism in the name of Jesus. Let us always thank God for His blessings available to us through the works and name of Jesus!


For those that don’t know, the word here translated as “tarry” means to ‘stay over’ or ‘remain’. (Strong’s, see link below for further edification)
